After record heat today, storms will break it and we will be MUCH colder on Saturday
After a record-breaking hot day on Thursday for many in Maine, things are about to change. Look for our warm and humid start to our Friday to come to a quick end this afternoon. Highs in the low to mid-80s today, with a cold front moving in tonight. Rounds of thunderstorms will be gully washers for us this afternoon. We could see localized 1+" of rain where these storms pop up. Small hail and gusty winds are possible too.
Temperatures will fall into the upper 40s overnight under mostly cloudy skies.
The weekend forecast is looking lousy. Rain chances are around each day. Not a washout on Saturday, but scattered showers are possible under cloudy skies and cool temperatures in the mid to upper 50s.
Better chance for rain by late Sunday into Monday. Looking at highs on Sunday in the low to mid-60s which is well below average this time of year. We normally are at 70 degrees this time of year.
