KENS 5 anchor Sarah Forgany is in ICU after surgical complications

The family of KENS 5 anchor Sarah Forgany has shared that the journalist is in an intensive care unit after complications from surgery.
On Monday, the family posted on her Facebook page that Forgany was on a ventilator.
"Sarah ran into complications during her recovery yesterday morning. She is in good spirits and keeping the faith, but we would sincerely appreciate all your prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery."
The family said doctors expect her recovery to take weeks.
According to her KENS 5 page, Sarah Forgany started her television career in 2002. An award-winning journalist, she has won four Associated Press awards.
Forgany reported health issues in mid-March. In a Facebook post on March 11, she told followers she had been in Venice when she was taken to the emergency room where she stayed for several days. She added: "unfortunately, I had to cut my vacation short & fly back to the U.S. to be admitted to a hospital here."
She followed that up with an update on March 17, noting that she had been released from the hospital and heading home. She did not say why she was in the hospital.
According to her KENS 5 page, Forgany started her television career in 2002. An award-winning journalist, she has won four Associated Press awards.
Forgany was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, but spent many years in Houston. She graduated with a journalism degree from the University of Houston. She joined the KENS 5 news team in April 2010.
